Father's Day is right around the corner and here is a great craft idea that makes a thoughtful gift. Make a booklet which contains 12 coupons to redeem for acts of thoughtfulness and love. One of the reasons this is a favorite craft of mine is because it teaches children that they can give thoughtful and loving gifts with out the need of money. Some of my favorite gifts from my kids were the ones from their heart and not their pocket.

Supplies

Cut a piece of construction paper the size of 7 inches wide by 8.5 inches in length. I then folded it in half so I have a piece measuring 3.5 width by 8.5 long. This is used as the coupon book. Cut 12 pieces of plain or colored paper 3 inches by 6 inches or you can use 6 pieces of paper measuring 6 x 6 and fold them in half to make the coupons that will go in the book.
Decorate the front of the coupon booklet with markers, stickers, photos by hand or create a design on the computer.
On each of the coupons write a specific task that the coupon can be redeemed to collect. These coupons can be decorated as well with pictures, stickers or drawings. They are now ready to be stapled, glued or taped into the coupon book.

What is really nice is this is a gift that just keeps on giving all year through.

When this craft was first designed computers were not as accessible to the average family. We made ours with construction paper, stickers, ect. Today most families have computers and most children can operate one at an early age. This craft is easy to transition to one prepared on the computer. The coupon displayed at the top was designed on a computer. Which ever system works best for you and your child is the best approach to take.
