I started doing this design for our trick or treat guests that appeared at our door every year for Halloween when my children were 5 and 3. It was an easy enough craft to let them help me make and they enjoyed knowing that they helped prepare the treats that were being given at the door. This is a nice craft/treat that allows the use of the imagination. You can add writing to each ghost and print a ghostly message, bible verse, or a favorite saying you'd like to inspire upon all those guests and gobblins that appear at your door.
Here is what you will need:
Tootsie Roll Pops
Tissue
Thread
Markers
Messages (optional)
Take the Tootsie Roll Pop and cover it with a Tissue.
Tie it with a thread where the stick and sucker meet.
Draw face on the Kleenex now covering the Tootsie Roll pop.
The message can vary from "Boo", Happy Halloween, Happy Samhain, or for those that prefer scripture use Isaiah 41:10
Staple the paper, the message is written, on to the Kleenex.
We had an assembly line production established where the three year old would get the tootsie pops from the bag and hand it to the five year old who put the tissue on and handed it to me to tie. This type of team sharing encourages team work, pride in their work, and the gift of sharing. Of course at the end of our hard ghostly work we would celebrate with a ghostly treat and a cup of hot chocolate.
