blessed elements jigsaw puzzle ornament
This Christmas puzzle wreath ornament idea was a favorite of mine when the children and I made them over twenty years ago (YIKES! Has it been that long ago?) It is still a favorite keepsake item I put on the tree each year. It is easy and fun and it is a good way to recycle puzzles that have missing pieces.

    Supplies
  • Jigsaw puzzle (the type with smaller pieces work better)
  • Paintbrush
  • Clear acrylic spray
  • Red and green acrylic paint
  • White glue
  • Decorative ribbon
  • Photo
  • Yarn or string to hang ornament

Take puzzle pieces and glue them to another piece in an overlapping design. Shape them in the shape of a circle to resemble a wreath. Make sure you use plenty of glue because you want the pieces to be adhered well together and you want it to stay solid.

After the glue dries you can paint the circle green. We took red acrylic paint and painted tiny red berries on our wreath but other designs can be used, such as white doves, candy canes or different colored Christmas balls. Sometimes it is fun to make them all different designs. Glue a loop of string on the back for a hanger.

After your finished decorating then spray the wreath with acrylic spray.

When it is dry then the next step is to make a bow from the ribbon and glue it on the wreath. Take your picture and place it on the back so the picture can be seen through the hole in the center of the wreath.

They are great keep sakes for the following years. This one uses a picture of our dog who has since passed but is a nice memory for our tree. I use to send these as well to relatives with pictures of the children in them.

Happy Holidays to you,

Grace
