Well if you have visited our main site www.blessedelements.com you will see that we have been just a little busy.  Yes I think I have finally come to a time in my life when I want to do what I want to do.  Sounds confusing but it isn’t, see I have wasted ALOT of time doing my line of work for others and although several thousand people appreciate me, I want to do it when I want to.  To sum it up, I am going to be 49 this year, not getting any younger and I’m cranky and want things my way, there I said it.  What does this mean you ask…..Well no more craft shows, no more writing online for other people, yes that is one of the many reasons what I really want to do has suffered, like Blessed Elements.  I have not produced not one single new thing for the site in the past oh 8 months and that is terrible, not the dream I had here.  Ok enough of me sniffling let’s just say I have removed my head from my behind and TAAA DAAA as Stewart from MadTV would say…..LOOK WHAT I CAN DO, hahahahahaha.

hahaha, did I scare you ?  My son and I are volunteers at the local Haunted House, plus all the money they collect will be for the food bank so we are having a lot of fun and helping our community at the same time, can’t ask for more than that right ?  We will do it again tonight and of course tomorrow night, I am dressing up as a witch, of course, and my son is in the milk jug room scaring people.  It’s all in fun really, can’t wait for tomorrow hope all of you have a very blessed Samhain, be careful and don’t eat any open candy.

My favorite celebration, oh all the smells of cider, pumpkin, and then there is all the eating squash, pumpkin bread, cider, pumpkin cookies, hot chocolate, yum yum.  The cooler weather coming, and my very favorite is see the leaves turn colors.  I am really fascinated with that, the tree knows when to change the colors, when to drop it’s leaves, another wonderful example of nature.  Yes I know we have been terrible slackers with the site and with winter coming we hope to remedy that.  There will also be a few changes with the site itself so I know it is taking us a bit longer than we would like but good things take a bit of time to develop.  Until then here is wishing you a very blessed Samhain don’t eat too much.

I know have not been keeping you informed, so sorry but I get off in a different direction and it is like this:  show me something shiny and off I go, really that is me.  As old as I am I should really be more “organized” and strict about working on this site but….oh look at the pretty…..Uh sorry see it happens so easily.  Ok seriously now we will be re vamping the site and remember we have beautiful T-shirts so feel free to order.  I am thinking maybe a crochet along what do you think ???

I think we are going to have winter a little early so I have been pretty busy trying to get a nice layer of mulch around all the trees (I have 14) and the grass has to have special fertilizer, and the 5 rose bushes need a nice layer of mulch and hopefully everything will make it thru the winter just fine.  I am having quite a bit of trouble with my 2 aspen trees so if anyone knows secrets to caring for them I would appreciate your tips.

As old as I am one would think that I would have figured out that you just can’t do 20 things at once, to make a long story short I have given up just about all of my volunteer adventures so that I can rightfully concentrate on making this website a place that I had envisioned all along.  Yes I know, I should of known better but I really try and do good things and sometimes ok who am I kidding, in almost every one of my volunteer adventures I end up being the lone ranger and then I really try hard to keep up which is always impossible, that is when I realize Hey we started with 5 people and now just me is doing it…anyway enough of the negative stuff.  I’m really excited that I have finally figured out sometimes it’s ok to go and do things for yourself, yes it has taken me awhile to get to this point but good thing is I am here so be on the look out for good things.  I am still writing for Modern Witch Magazine and I think you will be pretty interested to get the 3rd issue so don’t miss this one, really.

I just let time get away from me, really.  I get easily distracted by shiny things and then forget to  post a blog .  Yes we have slowed down a bit but  we have alot to show you very soon.  I know summer for me is so busy because we have such a short growing period that you have to jump on it asap or you won’t have a tree or grass or anything else.  So far we have grass on both sides of the house, 2 apple, 1 cherry, 3 lilacs, 2 little trying to hang in there lilacs, 2 aspens that are not looking good, 2 birch, 1 ornamental plum, and 1 I forget your name tree.  Around here you spend most of the summer trying to get the plants strong enough to survive the winter.  I don’t mind really because I love the plants, trees, etc.  Once you do get them established it is really easy to take care of them, it’s just getting them established that is the hard part.  Another issue of Modern Witch magazine is due out and yes I did write up another pattern and I know I need to write more for Blessed Elements and I will as I am full of alot of different ideas.

If you belong to Ravelry then you know that site is a wealth of information.  I have been just a little bit stuck as to what to design next so I did a sort of unofficial poll and now have a nice list of ideas to work on.  Apparently charts of pentacles have been way overdone but that ok, I have a pretty good list of what is really desired and will work on that.  I knew coming into this that it wouldn’t be easy.  See it is really easy to know what “I” like but the hard part is trying to guess at what others like So no worries more designs will be coming I just sort of had a little block but it is all cleared up now.

I know I have not been posting in here like I should but there will be more posts and of course there will be more patterns very soon, I have alot of ideas and just need to get them worked out and then written down…..that is always the hard part.  Sometimes I will have a great design idea and once I get it made or start to make it, I will discover “design flaws” and that is what take a little time, working out those “design flaws” , hahahahaha.

Oh well there is always next summer solstice, it was just a little too windy to have even a little fire, don’t want to chance it since last year the fire was almost to my fence and it was very very scary.  In other news I was working on crocheted food for my beautiful Granddaughter whom I adore.  I wish they lived here so that I could see her each and every day, I would never get tired of her, she will be 3 in September and she is a pistol, ha.  Yes we are in deep trouble when she learns how to be very specific with what she wants….I can see it all now my husband will have 3 jobs to get her what she wants, hahahahahaha.  Ok back to other stuff, not sure if you noticed but we have t-shirts for sale.  Aren’t they beautiful, be sure to thank Habundia as she was really the driving force behind it.  We both are going to start doing more on this site, it is a bit slow going but we both sort of got a little side tracked but no worries we still promise this will be the best place for you to get all the lovely gifts and patterns.  Stay tuned.
