The holidays are coming and soon we will see all of our service men and women on our television screens bidding their families and friends happy holidays. Those men and women in our armed forces are stationed in other areas of the world keeping our freedom safe and our defenses strong. I always enjoy those moments provided by the television stations and am sure the service personnel and their families appreciate it as well.
Some of our servicemen and women are wounded in the line of duty. Unfortunately they do not get to return to their life as they once knew it after their tour of duty is over. They have to adjust to their new lives that have been altered by their injuries. It is a difficult process for both the men and women that deal with it and their families.
A non profit organization that is helping them to make the transitions is The Wounded Warrior Project. Their mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors. To feel empowered versus defeated over injuries is a powerful tool!
There are lots of ways you can help give this organization a voice. You can read and be inspired by a number of ways on their Giving Back page.
I like the opportunity they give all of us by allowing us to thank a wounded soldier on their facebook page. You can send a card from their Thank a Warrior section.
Non profit organizations depend heavily on individuals and companies that step to the plate to help them. One company that has answered the call is At A Glance.
AT A GLANCE has committed to a minimum donation of $125,000 through 2014. They have a line of products they have created to be purchased that will help fulfill this pledge.
The product line includes planners, wall calendars, desk pads and appointment books featuring snapshots and stories of wounded warriors and their families through the ACCO Brands.
Sometimes ‘word of mouth’ is the most powerful tool we have to get information out to others so a non profit and companies that support them may be successful in their goals.
If you’d like to purchase one of these products to help At A Glance meet their pledge goal, that will also help you stay organized or be used as a gift to those on your Christmas list, then you may see the Wounded Warrior product line to make your selection. It is one way to raise awareness and ensure help for the needs of injured service members. This is also a way to give two gifts at the same time. One to someone on your gift giving list and one to the wounded soldier that benefits from The Wounded Warrior Non Profit Organization
