McKenna American Girl Doll Role Model

American Girl movies, books, and activities are products I never had to worry about giving to my daughter when she was young. I came to trust them for their quality and would inspire her to model integrity and common sense. The characters portrayed are very down to earth and likeable. They are put in real life settings with problems faced by children in their lives.
I like that the girls portrayed in American Girls books and movies sometimes make mistakes and are not always perfect. I think a child learns more from scenarios like that as it shows them how to correct mistakes made in life because no one is perfect.
McKeena Shoot For The Stars

The newest movie, McKenna Shoots For The Stars, teaches the importance of balance. McKenna, is pursuing her passion for gymnastics but her passion is quickly over-riding her academics. Her journey through this movie shows children the value of keeping a balance of all aspects of their life and to remember the importance of family, friends and school. It also focuses on feelings of vulnerability and inadequacies that most children face.

McKenna is a talented gymnast who is at home on the balance beam in the gym but that balance needs to be transferred to her academics as well. With hard work and keeping the correct focus, McKenna learns important lessons about keeping her balance in and out of the gym. Adults too will enjoy McKenna and her hard work to find balance and maintain it in life.
Watching McKenna overcome her obstacles by not giving up and facing challenges helps to model a path for American Girl fans to use in their own lives by teaching the importance of asking for help from loved ones.

American Girl McKenna Doll
McKenna is also available as a doll from American Girl. She is available for one year only and is featured as their 2012 Girl of the Year! The McKenna doll is 18″ tall with eyes that open and close. Her long, caramel-colored hair can be styled for her gymnastics practice, or worn up in twists for more formal occasions.

The doll is the high quality that American Girl is known for carrying in their product line. The McKenna doll has a cloth body to make her extra huggable featuring a moveable head, arms and legs made from vinyl. She comes dressed in a striped dress with a pleated skirt. Teal leggings complement this outfit for her active life and is accented with her slide on shoes. American Girl has even included the details this active girl will need with a head band to keep her hair in place during those gymnastic performances.

I’ve been acquainted with American Girl for over 25 years as my daughter was an avid fan and read all the books and even acted out the stories during play. I’m happy they offer the same quality books, dolls, movies, and products line that continue to teach children the life lessons that goals can be met and accomplished one day at a time.

The Bitty Baby dolls are so cute-have always been partial to baby dolls. I have a collection of baby dolls, some of them antiques, tho my favorite is a 1961 18″ Miss Peep baby doll,by (now defunct)dollmaker Cameo Doll Company. She has hinged arms and legs, can wear preemie size baby sleeper, she sqeeks in 3 different places, looks like an adorable real baby. She was given to me by my father in 1961,he purchased her on a business trip to Chicago. I’m 57,so she has been my best friend for over 50 years! Good luck to all!
