Can You Survive?

book gift guide

All books have been received for review in exchange for my honest opinion. I have placed those book I feel would be great holiday gifts in this guide.

Treasure Island and Twelve Labors Of Hercules have a new twist this fall. Lake 7 Creative has published two books that middle graders get the opportunity to be the main characters and make choices throughout the book to decide how to deal with situations faced in the story.
12 labors of Hercules
Greek Mythology’s Twelve Labors of Hercule adapted by Brandon Terrell makes the reader the main character of Hercules. They read the book while completing twelve perilous labors and deciding their path. Will their decisions lead to success to gain immortality or will their choices lead to doom?
Treasure Island
Treasure Island adapted by Blake Hoena
Once again in this adapted version of the classic of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island the reader will find they are the main character of Jim Hawkins as they begin their adventure. Decisions will need to be made through out the book and the reader will find out if they can make the correct decisions to locate the hidden treasure or will their decisions cost them their treasure and their life?

Both books are great reads for children of ages 9 – 13 and are fun as they are required to make decisions. The reader will then turn to the correct page to see if it was wise or a mistake. I like these books as they help a child to read, think, react, make a decision and then see the consequences of those choices.

Both of these books are available for sale at the Lake 7 Creative web site with other books for various ages.

Most of the paperbacks are priced at $8.95 and e-book versions are coming soon and priced at $3.99
I was just recently over at the site and downloaded a free Robin Hood e-book so check the site out to see all the great books available.

I believe that every moment has an opportunity to inspire the imagination and nurture creativity. I focus on articles and products that promote creativity, education and fun places to visit.

This book sounds wonderful for teaching children about the way they will have to react and make decisions on life matters when they get older. I like to say that they are never too young to start learning. This book sounds like it would wonderful.

    Wow! What a great concept.
My son, who is now 22, would have loved the ability to make choices and live/learn through the consequences. That said, he learned a lot from “traditional” books about Greek and Roman mythology that he read in grades 5-8, and can still teach me a thing or two.

These are some great titles. I would love to read these with my class. It is always such a pleasure to see kids immersed in literature and get involved with the characters and the plot.
