The Wizard of Oz

book gift guide

All books have been received for review in exchange for my honest opinion. I have placed those book I feel would be great holiday gifts in this guide.

I just watched this old classic with my daughter and grand-daughter. I’m saving this book back as a gift for my grand-daughter and know it will have more meaning now that we spent an evening together watching this movie. This book is a tribute to The Wizard of Oz‘s 75th anniversary and is written by Beth Bracken.
This book is written for ages 3-8 years and reading levels of PreK-3. It is a soft cover consisting of 32 pages.
The Wizard of Oz
This book recaps the movie version of The Wizard of Oz and has photos from the movie throughout the book.
It would be a lovely book for ‘Oz’ enthusiasts as well as children. This book would be a good introductory story for those that wanted to introduce a child to the movie or as a book for children that have fallen in love with the show after watching it. Each page contains a photo from the original movie and focuses on key parts of each major scene from the beginning of the tornado and where the house lands in Oz to Dorothy’s departure from Oz by clicking her Ruby slippers 3 times to return home.
It really is a nice keep sake and tribute to all the actors and actresses that performed in the show as most if any are still living.

This was one of my daughter’s favorites when she was younger. And she had the entire book set too.

The Wizard of Oz is just a timeless classic. I remember the first time I watched it and how fascinated I was at everything turning from black and white to color. I would love to add it to my DVD collection.
